Forty years ago, the property that is now home to Selva Color — called Bosques Margarita — was pastureland used for cattle ranching. Twenty-five years ago, the owners decided to gradually remove the cattle to focus on reforestation with native species such as laurel, cenízaro, oak, guanacaste, gallinazo, and cedar. Today it's a secondary forest that serves as a lung for the area. Bosques Margarita represents its owners' dream come true: transforming former cattle land into a beautiful forest that revives the charm of the mountain and its inhabitants.
